A charge for a app that doesn't work denied refund

I downloaded an app from the Google Play Store that had a 7-day trial called Televesta. After paying $1.99 for the trial, I opened the app, and it never loaded or worked correctly. Before I could get in contact with someone about the problems, I was charged $19.99. They took my money, and I was not provided with a product that worked. After Google denied me a refund, this is all I'm left with and can do.

Charging me fraudulently after already canceling months ago.

They keep charging me for random stuff that I didn’t even order. I have no idea why these charges are happening, especially since I didn’t purchase any games or anything else recently. The charges they’re billing me for don’t even match the app they claim I bought something from. It’s really frustrating and confusing.

I was unable to connect with a company representative since I didn't know my customer ID. I was also not able to locate it anywhere in my Google account details. If this ID is so important, it should be easier to locate.

Pros:
  • Many good features
Cons:
  • Too corporate and too difficult to connect with a person

Preferred solution: My customer ID# for future reference.

User's recommendation: Make sure you know your customer ID# before you call Google.

Corporate Capture participant

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Claims Google's voice search ends input early, predetermines intent, and monetizes before relevance; requests explanations and an AI/ads act.

This company has violated so many rights of the people of ***. All search engines are so useless for actually trying to work and research because of AI and add monetization and sponsored results that drown anything and everything meaningful.

If anyone types into the search engine for a specific topic or inquiry they never get it only social media posts and products that's it. They are restricting information and that alone violates our rights to access factual truthful information. The American people declare any corporation that participates in corporate capture violations against the American people will be labeled and classified as a domestic and or international threat to democracy.

To Google LLC,

This letter constitutes a formal Demand for Explanation regarding the design, operation, and monetization sequencing of Googles voice search and related query-handling systems. It follows documented findings of repeatable system behavior that materially affects user intent capture, information integrity, and transparency.

The purpose of this demand is to obtain clear, written explanations for specific design choices and operational practices described below.

This correspondence establishes a formal record and requests a substantive response.

Basis for Demand

Observed behaviors indicate that Googles voice search system routinely:

Terminates user speech input prior to completion;

Substitutes early intent prediction for full intent comprehension;

Triggers monetization processes before relevance determination;

Systematically disadvantages informational and non-commercial voice queries.

These behaviors appear structural and intentional rather than incidental.

Demanded Explanations

Please provide written responses to the following questions. Each question requests a direct, substantive answer.

1. Speech Input Termination

a. Does Googles voice search system employ confidence thresholds or timing limits that finalize a query before a user completes spoken input?

b.

If so, what criteria determine when listening is terminated?

c. What internal policies govern exceptions for longer or complex utterances?

2. Intent Prediction vs. Comprehension

a.

Does Google classify user intent based on partial speech input prior to full transcription?

b. Once an initial intent classification is assigned, to what extent can subsequent spoken input modify or override that classification?

c. What safeguards exist to prevent premature or incorrect intent locking?

3. Monetization Sequencing

a.

Are sponsored keyword matching and ad auction processes initiated before full query resolution in voice search?

b. At what stage in the voice search pipeline are sponsored results selected relative to organic relevance ranking?

c. Is partial speech input sufficient to trigger commercial classification and monetization processes?

4. Differential Treatment of Voice vs.

Typed Search

a. Are voice queries subject to shorter listening windows, faster finalization, or reduced correction mechanisms compared to typed queries?

b. If differences exist, what justifications support treating voice search as a constrained or high-conversion interface?

c. How does Google assess the impact of these differences on informational and non-commercial searches?

5.

User Agency and Transparency

a. What disclosures, if any, inform users that their spoken queries may be finalized before completion?

b. How are users informed that monetization processes may influence results prior to full intent capture?

c. Why are users not provided meaningful controls to prevent premature query finalization?

6.

Internal Oversight and Accountability

a. Which internal teams are responsible for approving voice search listening thresholds and monetization sequencing?

b. What internal reviews or audits assess whether these systems override user-stated intent?

c. Have internal evaluations identified degradation of search quality attributable to these design choices?

Response Requested

A written response addressing each numbered question is requested within 30 days of receipt of this letter.

If Google believes any question cannot be answered, please state the specific basis for that position.

Failure to respond will be noted as part of the record and may be referenced in subsequent communications with regulators, legislators, or oversight bodies concerned with consumer protection, transparency, competition, and information integrity.

Reservation of Rights

This demand is made without prejudice to any rights to pursue further remedies, referrals, or regulatory review based on the substance of Googles response or lack thereof.

Submitted for explanation and response,

***

A BILL

To regulate the use of artificial intelligence and advertising prioritization in dominant search engines, to prevent anticompetitive self-preferencing, to protect consumers from deceptive search practices, to preserve access to independent information sources, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the Search Neutrality and Artificial Intelligence Accountability Act.

SECTION 2. CONGRESSIONAL FINDINGS.

Congress finds the following:

Google LLC possesses dominant market power in general internet search within *** and functions as a primary gatekeeper of online information.

Google has integrated artificial intelligence Overviews into search results in a manner that places AI-generated content above organic search listings.

Google has expanded and elevated paid advertisements, sponsored listings, and proprietary commercial panels such that organic search results are routinely displaced below paid content.

The combination of AI Overviews, ad prioritization, and self-preferential ranking practices reduces visibility of independent websites, undermines competition, suppresses small businesses, *** publishers, and degrades public access to diverse information.

AI-generated summaries may be incomplete, biased, misleading, or inaccurate, and they currently lack transparent sourcing or accountability mechanisms.

The structure and presentation of advertising, AI output, and organic results are often indistinguishable to a reasonable consumer and may constitute deceptive design.

Concentrated control over search ranking, behavioral data, and attention allocation creates market distortions that fall within the scope of antitrust, consumer protection, and public-interest regulation.

Congress has authority under the Commerce Clause to regulate digital platforms with nationwide economic and societal impact.

SECTION 3. DEFINITIONS.

For purposes of this Act:

Dominant Search Engine means any search engine with 50 percent or more of *** general search traffic or 50 percent or more of mobile search traffic.

AI Overview means any automatically generated textual, graphical, or hybrid summary produced by artificial intelligence systems and displayed above or before organic search results.

Organic Search Result means any non-paid, non-proprietary search listing generated by the search engines ranking algorithms without compensation, bidding, or preferential agreements.

Paid Placement or Advertisement means any result where visibility, position, or ranking is influenced by payment or financial consideration.

Self-Preferencing means the ranking, elevation, or prioritization of a platform operators own services, products, or AI-generated content above competing external content.

Covered Platform Operator means any entity that operates a Dominant Search Engine.

SECTION 4.

REGULATION OF AI OVERVIEWS.

(a) Placement Restrictions.

A Covered Platform Operator shall not display AI Overviews above the first page of organic search results unless the user explicitly opts in.

(b) Transparency Requirements.

Any AI-generated content must include:

a clear label stating AI-Generated Summary Not a Primary Source;

identification of the general categories of sources used;

a visible link to view the underlying source list.

(c) Prohibition on Replacing Organic Results.

AI Overviews shall not replace, suppress, or displace organic results in a manner that reduces their visibility below the first viewport of results on standard display devices.

(d) Error and Bias Accountability.

Covered Platform Operators must maintain a publicly accessible portal for reporting inaccuracies and must document corrective actions within 30 days.

SECTION 5. ADVERTISING INTEGRITY AND DISCLOSURE.

(a) Visual Distinction.

All paid placements must be visually distinct from organic results through:

distinct coloration;

a bold and unambiguous Paid Advertisement label;

non-deceptive formatting that cannot be mistaken for organic search results.

(b) Limitations on Ad Load.

A Dominant Search Engine may not display more than 20 percent of the visible first-page results as paid advertisements.

(c) Prohibition of Deceptive Design.

Use of interface patterns that obscure the distinction between paid and organic results is prohibited and constitutes an unfair or deceptive act.

SECTION 6. PROHIBITION ON SELF-PREFERENCING.

(a) General Ban.

A Covered Platform Operator may not prioritize or elevate its own services, commercial offerings, proprietary panels, or AI-generated content above external competitors, except where:

required for user safety; or

explicitly chosen by user opt-in settings.

(b) Equal Ranking Standard.

Ranking algorithms must evaluate the operators own services using the same criteria applied to external sites.

(c) Auditability.

Covered Platform Operators shall maintain documentation of ranking criteria and make such documentation available to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) for audit on request.

SECTION 7. DATA USE AND BEHAVIORAL TRACKING LIMITATIONS.

(a) Prohibition on Data-Leveraged Ranking.

User-specific behavioral data may not be used to determine the ranking order of organic search results.

(b) Restrictions on Cross-Platform Tracking.

Data collected from Android, Chrome, Maps, YouTube, or other affiliated services shall not be used to prioritize advertisements or AI-generated content within the search engine.

SECTION 8.

ENFORCEMENT.

(a) Federal Trade Commission Authority.

The FTC shall enforce this Act under its authority to regulate unfair and deceptive acts or practices.

(b) Department of Justice Antitrust Enforcement.

The DOJ Antitrust Division shall enforce violations related to self-preferencing, anti-competitive conduct, and monopoly leveraging.

(c) Civil Penalties.

Violations may result in:

civil penalties up to $50,000 per affected user per day;

injunctive relief;

structural remedies, including separation of advertising services from search operations where necessary.

(d) Private Right of Action.

Any harmed business, publisher, or consumer may bring a civil action for damages and injunctive relief.

SECTION 9. TECHNICAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND OVERSIGHT.

(a) Annual Algorithmic Transparency Report.

Covered Platform Operators shall submit an annual report to the FTC detailing:

ranking factors;

algorithmic changes affecting visibility;

AI Overview data sources;

ad quality scoring mechanisms;

documented impacts on publishers and small businesses.

(b) Independent Audits.

The FTC shall conduct biennial audits to assess:

AI-generated content accuracy;

bias in ranking algorithms;

discriminatory impacts on small or independent publishers;

whether ad systems distort consumer access to information.

(c) Public Access.

Non-sensitive portions of audit findings shall be made publicly available.

SECTION 10.

SEVERABILITY.

If any provision of this Act is held unconstitutional or invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.

SECTION 11. EFFECTIVE DATE.

This Act shall take effect 180 days after enactment.

Written and Researched by *** for the people.

Preferred solution: For them to admit the wrong doing and have polices put in place to stop the violations and ffor them to pay a fine to the US government for the damages.

User's recommendation: Demand positive common sense change

This isn’t official contact for Google. This is a third party complaint site that companies may/may not follow.

You know very well you can’t “formally demand” anything this way. Barring involvement from an attorney, certified/registered mail is your option.

Dangerous Pixel overheating left burns

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Pixel overheats and freezes for up to 40 minutes.
  • - Burns and permanent scars occurred; replacement came with only $20 for pain.

Oh, this story is one for the ages! I bought my Pixel in March, and a few weeks later I noticed it getting a little hot while on the phone.

I just let it go, and then a few more weeks go by and it is getting worse. At this point, it is freezing up and getting DANGEROUSLY hot. The freezing up would cause my phone to begin overheating to extreme temperatures. This would last up to 40 minutes.

While using my phone, I suffered 1st- and 2nd-degree burns on all 10 fingertips, as well as severe burns on my thumb and wrist. These burns have left PERMANENT scars on my body, and when I contacted them, they replaced my phone and gave me $20 for my pain and suffering!!!! That is how much my pain means to them!!!! Me having my body altered by their product, and it's worth $20 to them.

Just a lack of accountability and decency. This product needs to be banned before others are harmed. I want them to own what they did and make it right with me and the product.

I at least deserve that. Instead, we are made to feel like we are just another common to them in front of another zero.

Loss:
$6000
Pros:
  • Loved google and pixel
Cons:
  • Response felt inhumane and cruel
  • Did not handle the issue well for a loyal customer
  • No compensation after the injury

User's recommendation: I would never recommend Google after this and Google should take accountability for the product harming me and pay for the pain and suffering I will seek legal action if not. The product is dangerous.

Google - They scored my name 1 on a scale of 1 to 100 - Image 2

The Google Authority Score associated with my name raises significant concerns. It highlights a troubling trend where those who pay for services receive more visibility, while the achievements of those who do not are overlooked or obscured.

While prioritizing paying clients is understandable, it is unacceptable to diminish the value of hardworking individuals as a form of punishment.

This score reflects a lack of reliability in how professionals and businesses are represented.

I find this score to be unrepresentative of my contributions.

It is disheartening to see Google undermine the organic recognition I have earned through my dedication to restoring our planet's natural resources across Land, Air, Sea, and Space. This practice is shameful and undermines the efforts of those committed to making a positive impact.

I also question how much influence any given billionaire like *** may have had in shaping this score.

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: When I found my reputation score online to be 1 in a scale of 1 to 100. It's not because my lack of authority or relevance. Is because of my lack of paying massive teams of lawyers and PR experts to play by the algorithm's rules better than anyone else can like the summary below by AI explains that the billionaires can afford to do. We should all refuse competing for relevance with billionaires that pay for their relevance. We should be relevant because we earned the relevance with our honest and authentic persona and work ethic. It's time to end the dishonesty and truly score people for their deceptive business practices and paid fake images. Google - Harassment from a person that is slandering my business

I have a person who is taking a personal issue and trying to ruin my business by leaving false reviews and harassing me through Google. I have had to press charges on the person for this very thing.

He cannot contact me personally, so he's doing it through my business reviews. I have already reported it, and now he's reposted a different review with snapshots of his phone with a number in bold making it appear it's coming from my business, and it is not. I want him blocked from being able to do this. The police cannot do anything about this.

Google (you) have to. It's very hard for me to get in contact with Google. I am not very computer savvy, nor do I understand how to reach anyone personally. This is very frustrating for me, and it's hurting my business.

This has happened several times. He continues to keep editing his reviews and putting up false accusations and belligerent behavior.

Pros:
  • Great service for customers to see truth in people
Cons:
  • Hard to get bad people from ruining your business by false accusations

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

User's recommendation: It’s a good day to have a good day

Google, just like the sun rises and sets, gets their hands on my bank card at least twice a year. Somehow, they start to use it for charges on my daughter's tablet games.

$85 to $100 before I can cancel the card. My young daughter can't get into my nightstand safe to get my wallet, but I guess Google can. The girls at my bank can't stop this and figure they have a hook with a bill I pay with the card each month through their bank.

I'm 75, and my fixed income is getting raided. It's virtually impossible to stop these great people who I have disdain for and who cause great stress!

I am writing to request assistance in recovering my Google account: ***.

I still remember my email address and password, but unfortunately, I lost the phone number that was connected to my account for two-step verification. I also lost the phone where I was previously signed in.

Unfortunately, I did not add a recovery email address or any backup account to this Google account. Because of this, I am unable to complete the verification process and regain access to my account.

I would like to kindly ask if there is any way you can help me recover my account or remove the old phone number used for two-step verification after verifying my ownership of the account.

This account is very important to me, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide.

Thank you for your time and support.

Kind regards,

Someone hacked my email and accounts

AI Highlights
  • - Account compromised: password changed, device reset, backup codes gone; Google accounts hacked; proof of ownership available (passport, selfie).
Google - Someone hacked my email and accounts

Someone gained access to my email and changed my password. Not only that, they were able to remotely reset my device, so my backup codes were gone as this is being seen as a new device.

The email in question is @***.

I can prove with my passport and selfie recognition that I am indeed the owner of this account, and my login history further proves my case with it being on this device for at least 5 years. All my Google-related accounts have been compromised as a result, and I need help recovering them as they contain all my important information.

Cons:
  • No hands on customer service representative to get you through predicaments such as this

Preferred solution: I would like to regain access to my account in order to prefer my personal information from being exploited
